I started my journey with Health Kinesiology training back in 2009 with HK Level 1. There are 10 levels of classes, plus a number of other classes one can take that are not part of the core curriculum. One can do HK work with only one level taken, but each class builds on the types of corrections that can be done, as well as practice and confidence in the work you're doing.
I've had to fly to all but my first class, and after my HK Level 7 class, I took a 2-1/2 year break from training. I decided that I needed to become serious about building my practice, and that if I was simply going to do HK for a hobby or my own personal healing, I didn't need to continue taking courses. So I spent the next 2-1/2 years moving to a larger office, advertising, building this website, and starting to see more clients. I've been very pleased with the direction in which my practice has been going and finally decided that I wanted to continue classes. It's often harder to find higher level classes because there's less demand for them, so sometimes you need to be patient in finding one. I was lucky to find my Minnesota teacher was traveling to New York (my hometown) this past April to teach HK Levels 8 and 9, plus Intrusive Energies, all back-to-back.
Normally, HK classes are done in 4 day format, but this set was done by special request in a 3 day format. What that meant was that I would be taking 10 hours of class a day, for 9 days within a 10 day period. That sounded reasonable when I booked my flights/hotel/rental car and paid for classes, but suddenly turned into "what the heck was I thinking?!" when I got there! LOL! You see, it's not just the time spent in an academic setting, but it's time spent giving and receiving energy sessions, which can be physically draining in large doses. There are reasons that clients wait several weeks before returning for another session - the body needs to integrate healing. This was a massive marathon of healing in a short period of time.
On the last day of class I was the chosen person to have a Free Form correction done on me in class. I intuitively knew this was going to be a big deal before she even called on me. You know, when you're sitting there thinking "don't pick me ... please, don't pick me" and then you hear your name called. Never fails!
Later this week I'll share more about that experience and how it's affected me since!
